Lessons and courses for every stage of your driving
Whether you have never sat in the driver's seat, need a licence in three weeks flat, or have held one for twenty years and lost your nerve, there is a Roadwise course that fits. Everything below is taught by DVSA-registered Approved Driving Instructors in dual-controlled cars, with free pickup across Greater Manchester.
Standard Driving Lessons
From £30 per hour
Our core service and the right choice for the majority of learners. Lessons run for one or two hours at a time, at whatever frequency suits you — most people find weekly or twice-weekly works best, since gaps longer than a fortnight mean spending the first twenty minutes re-learning what you already knew. We follow the DVSA syllabus in a logical order: cockpit drill and moving off, junctions and crossroads, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, dual carriageways, rural roads, the four manoeuvres, emergency stop and independent driving with sat nav.

Pass Plus
£170 (6 hours)
Pass Plus is the DVSA-recognised post-test course designed to fill the gaps that a learner licence leaves behind. Across six hours you cover town driving, all-weather driving, out-of-town and rural roads, night driving, dual carriageways and motorways. There is no test at the end — your instructor assesses you continuously and submits the paperwork when you reach the required standard. Many insurers offer a discount on a new driver’s first policy for Pass Plus holders, which often recovers a large part of the fee in year one.

Refresher Lessons
From £145 (5 hours)
For full licence holders who have not driven in years, who have lost confidence after a collision, or who have moved to the UK and need to adapt to our roads, roundabouts and motorway etiquette. There is no fixed syllabus — we start with a diagnostic drive, agree together what you want to work on, and go from there. Common requests include motorway confidence, parallel parking, city-centre bus lanes and tram crossings, and simply getting back behind the wheel after a long break.

Not sure which one you need?
You do not have to decide before you book. Take a £25 trial lesson, spend an hour driving with one of our instructors, and let them give you a straight answer about which route makes sense for your experience, your budget and your deadline. Nobody at Roadwise works on commission, so there is no incentive to push you towards the expensive option. If a weekly hour is what you need, that is what we will recommend.
